Disability Benefits
At DriveTime, we want to do all we can to help you protect your financial security. That’s why we provide disability benefits, administered by MetLife, to replace a portion of your income if you find yourself unable to work due to injury or illness.
DriveTime automatically provides short-term disability (STD) insurance through Unum to all benefits-eligible employees at no cost. Benefits will be reduced by other income, including state-mandated STD plans.
- Benefit: 60% of eligible earnings up to $1,385 per week
- Elimination period: 14 days
- Benefit duration: Up to 13 weeks
You can purchase voluntary long-term disability (LTD) insurance through Unum. You can buy up in order to extend the benefit duration.
- Benefit: 60% of eligible earnings up to $6,000 per month; benefit is tax exempt
- Elimination period: 90 days
- Benefit duration: Basic: Lesser of reducing benefit duration or five years; Buy-Up: Social Security normal retirement age
